Passengers started complaining of suffocation. One of the women passengers fell unconscious.

The Ahmedabad-bound flight was then diverted to Mumbai where it made an emergency landing.

Passenger Ronak metha said, “One of friends got injured …had to make emergency landing….several people could not breathe."

"Normal temp ke kahin jayada tha….pasine se lathpath (the temperature was much above the normal. Passengers began to sweat," rued another passenger Atul Agarwal.

The sick passengers were attended to at the Mumbai airport while the other passengers were made to wait while the AC problem was rectified. The flight finally reached its destination Ahmedabad at around 10 pm, almost fours hours late.

Angry passengers have now demanded a compensation. SpiceJet was not available for comments.
