Spicejet to connect Delhi, Mumbai with Dubai from June 25

Mumbai: The Kalanithi Maran-led no-frills carrier, Spicejet, on Friday announced expansion of its international services to the Gulf market by connecting Delhi and Mumbai with Dubai daily from June 25.

Spicejet said Dubai will be the airline's third international destination after Delhi-Kathmandu and Chennai-Colombo.

In domestic market, SpiceJet connects 34 destinations. The Chennai-based carrier is offering an introductory price of Rs 4,477 (plus government taxes) one-way from both the domestic destinations and the bookings are open from Friday.

Spicejet said Dubai will be the airline\'s third international destination after Delhi-Kathmandu and Chennai-Colombo.

"The government has taken substantial and positive steps to open the market and allowing private carriers to connect with new international destinations. To leverage the opportunity and offer quality services at affordable price to our guests, we are pleased to announce the launch of flights to Dubai with more exciting destinations coming soon," airline Chief Executive Neil Mills said.

The seven-year-old Spicejet will be flying its new generation Boeing 737-800s on these sectors.

The third largest airline made its debut into the global skies about two years ago with the launch of its flight from New Delhi to Kathmandu on October 7, 2010 and from Chennai to Colombo one week later.
