Mumbai: Call them the three musketeers or the music industry's success trio, Shankar Ehsaan Loy have now made it a habit of staying in news.
This time around it's their latest film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom starring Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta that is rocking popularity charts
"The music rocks and will send your blood pressure up is what I can say. It will make you want to get up and dance," says Ehsaan
But a little birdie has it that there’s trouble in paradise and that this successful trio is splitting up.
However, they seem to believe in taking it all this with a pinch of salt.
"Shankar is suing us because many years ago we didn't let him sing Kal Ho Na Ho," quips Ehsaan.
However, Shankar decides play along. "Yes, it's now going to be Ehsan and Loy and I will let them use my surname Mahadevan," he laughs.
While film's music did run into rough weather - singer Daler Mehndi slapped a case onto them for replacing his voice in the title song - the trio likes to take it all in good spirit and with a dash of humour thrown in.
Shankar Ehsaan and Loy have also become a brand, even going on to sell tea.
"It's important for us to sell tea as it's a part of a creative team. If there's no chai in a studio, we don't go and work there," says Ehsan.
So what would future endorsements be like?
Lamborghini, says Shankar, Loy says he could do with a hair gel and Ehsan says he'd rather endorse a heartburn cream!
