THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretariat has been restructured with the induction of three new faces; P K Sreemathi, Elamaram Kareem and Baby John.
While veteran leader T Sivadasa Menon and Paloli Mohammed Kutty were dropped from the secretariat citing health grounds, M A Baby, who has been elected to the politburo, was dropped to facilitate the induction of new faces.
The state committee meeting chaired by politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan elected the new secretariat.
The other ecretariat members are: V S Achuthanandan, Pinarayi Vijayan, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, P Karunakaran, P K Gurudasan, E P Jayarajan, Vaikom Viswan, Thomas Isaac, V V Dakshinamurthy, A K Balan, M V Govindan Master and Anathalavatom Anandan.
M A Baby, K K Shylaja, M C Josephine and A Vijayaraghavan can also attend the secretariat meeting in their capacity as central committee members from the state.
G Sudhakaran, who was offered a slot in the secretariat, declined the offer. It is learnt that though state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan insisted on the induction of Sudhakaran into the secretariat, he declined it
saying that he was content with his slot in the state committee.
