Chennai: Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) Rajya Sabha member of Parliament Kanimozhi has given a post dated resignation letter to support MK Karunanidhi's decision to withdraw support from United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government if it fails to stop military aid to Sri Lanka.
"It is just a post dated letter which is I have given to the Chief Minister to say that i completely support the decision they have announced yesterday," Kanimozhi said.
Eight political parties in Tamil Nadu have joined hands to support the Tamil population in Sri Lanka and on Tuesday in a meeting convened by Karunanidhi, had demanded that the Centre stop military aid to Colombo.
Earlier Karunanidhi had threatened to withdraw support to the UPA Government if it failed to put an end to the killing of Sri Lankan Tamils.
Thirty nine MPs from Tamil Nadu attended the all party meet.
However, Opposition leader and AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa did not attend the meeting. The BJP, DMDK and MDMK too did attend the meeting.
