New Delhi: Massive protests are on in downtown Srinagar following the death of a Class 9 student in police firing on Friday.
The boy was killed when police opened fire on protestors in the Nowhatta area. He was shot in the abdomen and died before he could reach the Soura Hospital.
Traffic in downtown Srinagar has been severely affected as the angry mob fought pitched battles with Police.
Srinagar and Kangan have witnessed several protests over the past two days over alleged human rights violations by security forces.
The latest incident is likely to add fuel to the fire.
