New Delhi: After a brief respite from the cold, The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that Western Disturbances could cause temperatures to drop by 4 to 6 degrees across North India. The cold spell started Sunday evening with Delhi experiencing light rain.
Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed down on Monday due to heavy snowfall. Meanwhile the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh and some parts of Uttarakhand are also expected to see heavy snowfall.
The northern plains are expected to see 2 to 4 centimeters of rain and hail this week. States of Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are likely to be affected the most.
