New Delhi: Actor and co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders Shah Rukh Khan has been asked to appear before a Jaipur court on Saturday after he was served summons in a case related to smoking in public by him at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium during an IPL match.

On April 27, Khan had been directed by a local court in Jaipur to appear before it on May 26, after he was seen smoking at the stadium.

Taking cognisance of a complaint filed by a private cricket academy, the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Shilpa Sameer summoned the actor. In his complaint, Anand Singh, who runs the Jaipur Cricket Academy, had sought action against Khan under section 5/11 of Rajasthan Prohibition of Smoking Act, 2000, which prohibits smoking at a public place.
