Mumbai: You didn’t need Karan Johar, Cyrus Broacha on the microphones and the stars of Jaan-e-Mann walking the ramp to make the MTV Lycra Style Awards a glitzy affair.
Kailash Kher's attire and Bappi Lahiri’s glares alone would have done the trick.
But the awards this year seemed low-key and the winners, from the look of it, had come ready with their speeches.
"If you get the award then good, other wise just call it lousy!" said designer Manish Malhotra.
Actor Preity Zinta, who rated the most stylish female actor, certainly seemed to think clothes are a wee bit over rated.
"If your heart is unhappy, no matter what you wear, it doesn’t help," said Preity.
And Shah Rukh Khan, who gave the event a miss, won the most stylish actor award.
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna grabbed the most stylish film and Abhishek Bachchan’s hip hop moves in Right here, right now won the track the most stylish song. Manish Malhotra won the most stylish Bollywood designer.
Meanwhile, model Diana Hayden walked the ramp in a Ritu Kumar outfit and expressed concern for those who would actually end up buying it.
"Its heavy! My heart goes to brides who have to actually wear this,” she said.
