Starry way to finding the child within

Mumbai: When Bollywood stars decide come together for a cause, even a simple event is bound to become a glittering affair.

Add to it the spunk of young, bubbly children and it just gives the adults a chance to revisit their childhoods.

So when actors Sunil Shetty, Boman Irani, Juhi Chawla, Poonam Dhillon and singer Sunita Rao showed up at a special celebration with a group of children from seven NGOs across Mumbai, the party couldn’t get better.

"We adults get used to everything and we take things for granted as well. But kids have a sense of wonder about things we don’t notice,” said Juhi Chawla.

The stars had gathered for an event called Hope for the Future, organised by Rael Padamsee's Create Foundation.

"Kids are all about love, unconditional love. They have no pressures and are always smiling,” actor Sunil Shetty said.

Shetty was not the only one who picked up a lesson or two from the children. “They are so free and open and have no inhibitions, they don’t carry any baggage with them,” said actor Ashmit Patel.

Bollywood’s man for all seasons Boman Irani was also clearly impressed. "I think their minds are far clearer in their thoughts, we complicate our minds. They think faster than us and their responses are very honest,” he said.

Apart from applauding the special talents of children and complimenting their art work, the stars also played along, participating in various events.
