Mumbai: Bollywood designer Rocky S showcased an eclectic line of bridal wear on Friday, that stood out for its bright hues and precision in structure.
The collection was unveiled at a designer store called Aza on Friday.
With the marriage season still many months away, one wondered why Rocky decided to take such an early plunge. Also, the inevitable question about how his range will be different from others we'll see shortly.
"The wedding season is going come soon and people would want bridal stuff. Women want to look very confident not filled with embroidery. They want lots of very rich colours and modern cuts,” says Rocky S.
The collection got Rocky praises even from his professional competitors.
"He is great at his work because he is far ahead of the season. Imagine, getting a bridal collection even in the month of July. I think it is brilliant. Here, we are trying to get a collection out in September and here he is already out with a collection in July,” says designer, Vikram Phadnis.
Tinsel town's most glamorous stars turned up to support their favourite designer.
"I have been a strong Rocky S supporter, not just as a person who wears his clothes. I am also one of his closest friends. So, we are always supportive of whatever he does. Today, he is showcasing bridal collections, antic work and bright colours. I don’t know when I am going to wear them,” says actor Bipasha Basu.
"What I love about rocky is, that all his styles are really feminine and I love the fabrics he uses. He is one of my favourite designers,” says actor Shamita Shetty.
Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif praising Rocky’s designs, says, “Rocky's fits, his cuts are very correct and of international standards. They are not hanging out or anything like that.”
With his starry friends in full attendance, his clothes drawing appreciative stares, Rocky S seemed more than happy with his bridal collection.
