Mumbai: Even the noblest of all causes needs money. So when Plan India Foundation got stars to campaign for the under-privileged children, how could the moolah not flow?
The foundation conducted an art exhibition to raise funds with many Bollywood actors including Plan India brand Ambassador Anil Kapoor in attendance.
“We are trying to raise as much money as possible for Plan India,” said Kapoor.
The actor, who is known to be a recluse, has given his name, fame and face to the cause for a year now and it’s probably the only “brand” that he is currently endorsing.
The other stars present for the show cited their own reasons for supporting the cause.
“When a film star says I drive this car, a million follow; I eat this chocolate, a million follow; am sure if they say that I do charity, a million will follow suit,” opined actor Pooja Bedi.
Others agreed. “I think anybody with a heart can relate with children and doesn't have to be an artist,” said actor Sanjay Dutt.
It's probably this love for children that got some of them here.
“The word children turns me into a ball of mush,” said actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthy. Added actor-politician Vinod Khanna, “If I invite a child who is six months old, he will come to my arms without crying.”
