New Delhi: The handling of the findings of the Ram Pradhan Committee on 26/11 terror attack by the Maharashtra government has now triggered angry reactions from the martyrs' families.

The slain Mumbai cop Hemant Karkare's brother Shirish Karkare said, “I don’t find any reasons why the report can’t be made public. The system failure was being looked into, the weak links that couldn’t react properly which need to be highlighted.”

In an e-mail statement given to CNN IBN, wife of slain Additional Commissioner of Police, Ashok Kamte Vinita Kamte, attacked Maharashtra government for withholding parts of the crucial report, saying, "Where is the transparency? How do we know who has been blamed, what roles were played by different agencies on that day? It looks like a whitewash because only the state government knows the contents of the report and what happened that day. So it's only right for them to come out with whatever they know. And if there's any sensitive information, it can be blurred."

However, Ram Pradhan, the Chairman of the Committee defended the probe panel on CNN IBN.

Pradhan said, “We did our job, we were asked to look into certain aspects and they were very clear. We made recommendations in case we have to face any such situation in future.”

By not tabling the entire Pradhan Committee report, Maharashtra government might have prevented the opposition from using some adverse probe observations to their advantage, but it is now facing severe flak for its decision to partially reveal the crucial findings.
