Mumbai: Officergoers in Mumbai are likely to face a frantic day on Saturday with the visit of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and President APJ Abdul Kalam.
Security has been ramped up in all parts of the city as Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to address a rally at Shivaji Park and President Kalam to attend a meeting at IIT Powai.
A large number of Congress Party supporters from across the state are likely to assemble at Mumbai's Shivaji Park Maidan and in view of that, the vehicular traffic around Bandra, Kalanagar, Mahim, Shivaji Park, Prabhadevi, Dadar and Sion is likely to be affected.
As a result, the entire of Western Express and Eastern Express highways also might face traffic problems.
Traffic movement on the following roads will be regulated on account of the VVIP Visits -
From 1030 hrs IST till 1230 hrs IST Shahid Bhagatsingh Road, Rambhau Salgoankar Marg, Wodehouse Road, Jagannath Bhosale Marg, Madam Cama Road, N.S.Road, Babulnath, Sitaram Patkar Marg, Pedder Road.
Later in the afternoon (from 1230 hrs IST to 1400 hrs IST), Military Camp Junction, Kalina Circle, CST Road, Vidyanagri Junction, Mohmedi Estate Junction, MTNL Junction and BKC Road will be regulated.
Considering the above, Mumbaikars are advised to use alternative routes or preferably local trains to commute.
