New Delhi: Former Australian Cricket World Cup winning captain Steve Waugh is now all set to step onto the football field.
The Former Australian captain, who retired from international cricket in 2004, is likely to take up a new role, that of a mentor of the national football team for its Asian Cup campaign.
With his vast experience of playing against Asian teams, Steve Waugh might prove a perfect motivator for the Aussies in the tournament to be held in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam from the July 7 to 29.
Waugh is enthusiastic about talking to the squad on the pressures of entering a tournament as favourites and playing a competition in Asia.
