Stop joint ops: Maoist's open letter to WB CM

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: A Maoist leader has sent an open letter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressing doubts over peace talks if the joint forces operations weren’t withdrawn.

The letter signed by one Akaash, who claims to be CPI (M) spokesperson, said that Mamata Banerjee is now singing the same tune as her predecessor Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

He accused Trinamool Congress of resorting to violence and extortion in the Junglemahal area. He said although the state government claims that the joint forces operations are on hold, the paramilitary is still carrying on the operation of hunting down Maoists in a clandestine manner.
