Mahabaleshwar (Maharashtra): If you are looking forward to a delicious weekend, then Mahabaleshwar is the place to go.

The strawberry festival that is on till Sunday promises a fun-filled time with your family.

A grand procession winds through the streets of Mahabaleshwar with Chhatrapati Shivaji in front, but the pride of place is reserved for this red, juicy fruit -- the strawberry, the main produce in this part of Maharashtra.

The cynosure of all eyes in the second strawberry festival organised by farmers of the region however, was a five-year-old.

He shares his name with the crown prince of the Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul gets privileges not extended to others. And though he doesn’t seem quite pleased with the mess, he says he enjoys eating the fruit.

“I love strawberries. I love strawberries,” says Rahul.

There were other children who also enjoyed gorging on the strawberries while having a strawberry bath.

“I had 10. I will have 20 more,” said a child.

"I came to the fields. It was fun. I had at least 30,” added another child.

There are also many mouth- watering strawberry preparations on offer at the festival. So spend your weekend gorging on the yummy strawberries.
