The legal age for drinking is 25. The police also seized hookahs from the place. The owner of the pub has been fined under the Excise Act and has been taken into police custody.
"By serving alcohol to school children, the pub was trying to destroy their future. We have fined them under Excise Act and we will also try to cancel their licence," said a police official, Subhash Kaushik.
Reacting to the incident, educationist Shyama Chona said she's not totally surprised, but it's the parents' and schools' responsibility to guide children according to changing times. She is also not in favour of bringing down the legal age for drinking.
