CNN-IBN

Patna: A group of students set three AC coaches of Patna-bound Shramjeevi Express set on fire at Bihta Railway Station near Patna on Tuesday.

Three other bogies were also partially damaged by the fire.

The students resorted to violence after Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawans beat up a few students at the railway station during the course of ticket checking drive.

One of the students was reportedly beaten up very badly and sustained serious injuries.

As the news spread, students from adjoining areas gathered at the station and attacked the train, which had just halted at Bihta station.

The ticket checking drive was conducted after reports of some students travelling without ticket.
