Sunita Williams to watch 'Joker' in space?

Mumbai: Filmmaker Farah Khan is going out of her way, literally, to promote her home production 'Joker' in a unique way. She wants to make it possible for Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams to watch the movie, based on aliens, while in space.

The 'Joker' team seems too ambitious about it. "We are trying to (show the movie to Williams), but I don't think we are going to get permission. There are lot of red tapes involved in that. UTV has been trying to get it up because the movie is about UFOs and space," Farah said here.

"They wanted it to be up there, but I think one has to take permission a year in advance. So the process is on," she added.

The Hindi sci-fi adventure film has been directed by Shirish Kunder and stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Minisha Lamba And Shreyas Talpade.

'Joker' is being jointly produced by Shirish Kunder and his wife Farah Khan's Three's Company and Akshay Kumar's Hari Om Entertainment Co.
In the past, Kunder has edited films like 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om'. His debut directorial movie 'Jaan-E-Mann' which was released in 2006.
Though his directorial debut 'Jaan-E-Mann' bombed at the box office, director Shirish Kunder remains unfazed and says he will not hard sell his movie but will instead employ marketing fundas used by Aamir Khan.
The movie is scheduled for an August release with the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer 'Ek Tha Tiger' hitting the screens in the same month.
Joker will be released on August 30, 2012. Shirish Kunder has repeatedly tweeted that he is super excited about this film which is based in the fictional village of Paglapur.
The trailer of Joker was released on July 11 and gives the first glimpse at the much-talked-about aliens.
Kunder said 'Joker' has some humour but its not a comedy. "Maybe because of the word 'Joker', it is presumed as a comedy. But even 'Mera Naam Joker' was not a comedy," the 38-year-old posted on Twitter.
Minissha Lamba was roped in to star in Joker. She is the heroine opposite Shreyas Talpade in the film.
Kunder, married to choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan, denied the film was inspired by 2010 Hollywood film 'Alice in Wonderland'. He says the only thing common between both the projects is the fantasy factor.
Last seen in the national award winning film Well Done Abba, Minissha, who has been off the big screen for some time, said she was excited about working with Kunder.
Lamba said she was blessed to be acting with the people she has always admired.

Asrani has made a glorious comeback to Hindi cinema. He had a role in Rohit Shetty's Bol Bachchan as well.
