Superman returns to theatres

Mumbai: It's Friday again, but Bollywood's platter is empty this week. However, Superman is here to entertain you and how! The original superhero returns to earth and Indian cinemas.

The one and only Superman is back with sky-high expectations.

Director Bryan Singer tries to pick up from where Richard Donner left the franchise bringing in Brandon Routh to take on Christopher Reeve's portrayal of the Man of Steel.

Back from planet Krypton, Superman is here to do what he does best: save the good from the bad.

Of course there's his eternal love for Lois Lane played by Kate Bosworth, who to his utter disappointment, is getting ready to hitch her wagon with another man and has a son to top it all.

Kevin Spacey goes bald for his bad man act as Lex Luthor, aiming to wipe out Superman once and for all.

According to reviews so far, Singer of X-Men fame, does the film full justice, balancing some breath-taking and eye-popping action sequences with the staple romantic candyfloss.

And given the hype and sentiments, not to mention the legacy aurrounding Superman, Routh sure has some mighty big red boots to fill.
