Surat: Surat DCP Shobha Bhutada has filed a complaint alleging that she has been getting threat calls from self-styled godman Asaram's supporters. The DCP has claimed that she has been told to stop looking for Asaram's son Narayan Sai in connections with the sexual assault case or she will be shot.
"Shobha Bhutada received a threatening phone call saying she should stop looking for Asaram's son Narayan Sai or she would be shot. The mobile number used is registered to a Dashrat Singh in MP," said Inspector CK Patel.
She has now filed a police complaint at the Umra Police Station. Asaram and his son Narayan Sai have both been accused in a sexual assault case by two Surat-based sisters.
Narayan Sai has been on the run despite a lookout notice against him. His anticipatory bail plea will be heard in a Surat court on Monday.
Meanwhile, Asaram's wife and daughter will be produced before an SIT Monday. This even as Asaram's plea seeking a restriction on media coverage of his trail will also come up in the Supreme Court on Monday.
