Surat man's letter to Tata gets him a Nano

Surat: A 58-year old man from Gujarat was given the keys to his brand new Nano, two years before he was scheduled to get the car.

A letter from Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata is 58-year old Hoshang Nalladaru's most prized possession. It has got him the keys to a brand new Nano from the local Tata dealer at Surat two years before it is due.

"I was hopeful I'll get a Nano, but felt depressed that I would have to wait until 2011 for the car. Then, I got in touch with Ratan Tata and now I'm happy," says Hoshang Nalladaru.

Nalladaru wrote a 5,500 word essay in a mix of Gujarati and Parsi each word begiing with the letter 'P' to jump the big Nano queue.

He then sent the essay along with a covering letter to Ratan Tata and the response was prompt.

"I want to thank Ratan Tata for this. I will keep this car with me for the rest of my life and I will never sell it," says Nalladaru.

Within days of the letter the Nano was delivered to Nalladaru on Dusshera

"He was extremely happy when he got the car. And we are happy, too, because Ratan Tata values each customer so much," says Tata Motors dealer Tarun Guha.

And in this case the value of a customer was taken to an unprecedented level.
