The Syro-Malabar Church Commission for Laity will open laity centres and offices at all dioceses. The Church commission has already opened laity centres in different countries and across India to facilitate members of the church who live away from their home.
The laity centres are being opened as directed by the Bishops’ Synod of the Church. According to a study report presented by Laity Commission secretary V C Sebastian at the Synod, 78 per cent of people in the age group of 20-32 leaves the state for studies or career.
