Tamil actor 'Ilayathalapathy' Vijay turns 38

One of the biggest stars of Tamil cinema, Vijay, dearly referred to as Ilayathalapathy, celebrates his birthday today (June 22). The actor who turns 38 enjoys a massive fan base in Tamil Nadu and among global Tamilians.

This child artist turned actor turned star is all about cinema! Talk to him and in five minutes you're sure to know his passion for films, what with his eyes twinkling when he speaks about films and how he will watch any Tamil film that releases on the very same day, at least as back to back shows if there are too many big releases in a day.

Although the actor saw few flops before 2011, he rose back to stardom in 2011 and made it clear through his films that he's here to stay and rule the industry and the hattrick success of 'Kaavalan', 'Velayudham' and 'Nanban' in the box-office stand testimony to this.

Currently, Vijay has 'Thupaki', a cop flick with AR Murugadoss and Kajal Aggarwal, 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru' with Gautham Vasudev Menon and a yet to be titled venture with AL Vijay.
