CNN-IBN | Updated Sep 28, 2012 at 12:15pm IST

Sivakasi: In yet another case of fire in the cracker-making hub of Sivakasi, at least three people died on Friday. The fire broke out on Friday morning in a house resulting in the tragedy.

Even though the fire was put out quickly, three people had already died.

Earlier, on September 5 as many as 39 persons were killed and 49 injured when fire broke out in a private cracker factory in Sivakasi.

In that incident investigations had confirmed that the factory was operating illegally and had been inspected less than 24 hours earlier and ordered to close temporarily due to violations.

The tragedies have brought back into focus the necessity of a safety system which has to be put in place across all of such fire cracker factories that are setup in Sivakasi, especially during the Diwali season when all of them work around the clock to complete big orders that come to them.
