Madurai: A mysterious fever that broke out in Periyachittulottipatti village near Peraiyur taluk in the disrict has claimed four lives within a fortnight, Health Department officials said here on Thursday.
A special team from healh department had been rushed there following reports that 200 persons were afflicted by the fever. Those affected with the fever were experiencing irritation in the eyes, head ache and body pain.
Initial investigation revealed that the cause of the fever was due to unhygienic condition prevailing in the area, they said.
