Madurai: A new-born girl baby was found abandoned in a textile shopper bag in a coach of the Pandiyan Express train at neighbouring Dindigul on Thursday night.
Police said a ticket examiner saw the baby wriggling in the bag and crying and gave a complaint to the Railway Police. Police rushed the baby to the government hospital where it was given first aid.
The district child protection centre would take care of the baby under cradle baby scheme, officials said.
