New Delhi: The controversial Bangladeshi writer, Taslima Nasreen, is now staying at the National Security Guards complex in the Capital, under the Central government’s protection.
The Intelligence Bureau had shifted her from the Rajasthan House on Monday night fearing protests.
Meanwhile, the Union Government and the Congress criticised Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, for offering Taslima refuge in Gujarat, calling it an opportunistic move. The BJP asked the government to give her the status of a political refugee. She is being given Y class security, which means she has a security cover of 11 personnel.
The West Bengal government has not yet urged Taslima to come back, but they maintain they are not blocking her return. Taslima has told CNN-IBN that she did not leave Kolkata on her own will.
