Mumbai: A search conducted by the Income Tax department on actor Shahrukh Khan's entertainment company Red Chillies Entertainment has revealed alleged violation of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), IT sources said on Saturday.
There has been a violation to the extent of Rs 10 lakh and the exact amount is being worked out, the sources claimed.
The actor and officials of his company were not immediately available for comments.
The IT officials had on November 23 carried out a survey of Red Chillies at the actor's premises in suburban Bandra.
Red Chillies, of which Khan and his wife Gauri are directors, is a production house and has produced the films Main Hoon Na and Paheli, in which he also acted.
The company, while hiring studios for shooting, allegedly did not deduct TDS while making payments in some cases, sources said.
In other cases, TDS was either not deducted from the salaries of employees or was not paid to the IT department, the sources added.
