Press Trust Of India

Kolkata: A school teacher, kidnapped by Maoists, was found dead in the jungles near Goaltore in the West Midnapore district of West Bengal on Tuesday.

The teacher, Satya Kinkar Hansda, was allegedly shot dead by Maoists. Hansda had reportedly been warned by the Maoists for working for the Gana Pratirodh Committee.

Gana Pratirodh Committee is a rival of the Maoist-backed People's Committee against Police Atrocities.

The tragic incident happened even as a Central team is in the state to probe the continuing political violence.
