VILLUPURAM: Natarajan (50), a teacher in a private school in Thiyaga Thurugam near Kallakurichi, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly misbehaving with a girl of Class VIII while travelling in an auto.
On Wednesday 13-year-old Santhi (name changed), took a share auto to school. Natarajan, a native of Santhi Nagar in Puducherry who teaches at Santhi’s school, got into the auto and sat next to her. As the auto proceeded he began to misbehave with her. Though other people were travelling with them, no one noticed anything.
Natarajan allegedly threatened the girl and warned her not to mention the incident to anyone. However, when she got home Santhi told her parents about it. When they complained to the school management about the teacher, the principal of the school tried to pacify them.
Santhi’s parents then lodged a complaint against Natarajan at the Thiyaga Thurugam police station.
