Team Anna is a group of criminals: Mulayam Singh Yadav

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has come out strongly against Team Anna calling them 'a group of criminals'. "Anna Hazare is surrounded by corrupt people," Yadav said. This came even as Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal said he respected Parliament and some Parliamentarians as well. Kejriwal, however, maintained that there were many 'tainted' leaders in Parliament.

"The respect of Parliamentarians is not dependent on who is saying what, but it is dependent on how they act," Kejriwal added.

Team Anna had come under attack by the political class after Kejriwal's derogatory remarks at Jantar Mantar on Sunday against Parliamentarians. The Lok Sabha on Tuesday unanimously accepted a resolution against Team Anna for their derogatory remarks. Speaker Meira Kumar adopted the Sharad Yadav-moved resolution after leaders of various political parties expressed their views on the motion.

Addressing protesters at Jantar Mantar during Anna Hazare's fast on Sunday, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal said that Parliament is full of robbers or people who have murder cases and rape cases against them.

He said 162 MPs have criminal cases against them which include 20 with attempt to murder cases.

Kejriwal even took the names of around 25 politicians, including ministers Sharad Pawar, SM Krishna, P Chidambaram, Praful Patel, Kapil Sibal, Kamal Nath, Farooq Abdullah, Ajit Singh, Sri Prakash Jaiswal, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Vilasrao Deshmukh, MK Azhagiri and GK Vasan.
