Brushing aside concerns over his poor health, Hazare on Tuesday announced that he would join the fast from July 29 if the government failed to take immediate steps to check corruption in high places.
"We are waiting for Anna to arrive here. We will always support him," said 62-year-old businessman Jagtar Singh, holding a poster of Hazare in his hand.
Team Anna volunteers said they were expecting massive crowds.
India Against Corruption (IAC) volunteers have divided themselves into various teams like crowd management, sanitation, health, media and guest management team and Anshankari team, said IAC media coordinator Aswathi Muralidharan.
Team Anna has got permission to fast at Jantar Mantar till Aug 8, the day the monsoon session of parliament is expected to begin.
