Bangalore: A software professional committed suicide and shot the ending moments of his life on his mobile camera with a view to punish the guilty, police said on Wednesday.

Following alleged harassment from his wife and separation with his child, Syed Ahmed Makdoom committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of his residence last Thursday, police said.

Police, who seized the mobile, said the 10-minute video clipping showed him breaking down and telling the camera why he was ending his life.

The video clip shows the techie saying that he was away from his child and was unable to bear the separation. Life has no meaning without his child.

“Today I am ending my life. I am ending my life after being betrayed by my separated wife. I am ending my life as nobody understood my attachment and feeling towards my son.

Anyone else committing the terrible act of keeping a dad away from his beloved son should think twice,” said the video clipping.

A foul stench, which emerged from the residence, made the neighbours suspicious and they informed the police who broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling.

Police also recovered a suicide note in which he had written the same emotion and plea.
