Jammu: Demanding recruitment and regularisation, a group of technocrats clashed with police on Friday, who foiled their march towards Civil Secretariat in Jammu.
Over one hundred and thirty technocrats took out a rally from Indira Chowk towards Civil Secretariat where prohibitory orders have been imposed. They raised anti-government slogans and carried placards and banners and tried to move towards the Secretariat Complex, but heavy deployment of police and para-military troops foiled their attempt.
The group clashed with the police personnel following which they resorted to mild lathicharge and detained about 35 technocrats under preventive measures.
