New Delhi: Delhi Police have finally arrested the driver of the Scorpio who allegedly killed five members of the Garg family on Thursday night.
After more than 48 hours of this terrible accident the police claim to have nabbed the driver. The accident took place in North-West Delhi.
A 16 year old was allegedly driving the Scorpio which rammed into a Maruti car killing five members of the Garg family on Thursday night. The boy surrendered before the police at the behest of his father who had been asked by the police to produce the owner of the vehicle.
The police have apprehended the boy on the basis of call details of the father’s mobile. But the family members say that the police are only making a show of arrest while the real culprit is still on the loose.
“We don’t trust the police. They are lying. It has been four days now and they have not been able to arrest the culprit,” says victim’s sister.
The victim’s family and friends took to streets on Sunday to protest against what they felt was a shoddy investigation. They are demanding a CBI enquiry into the matter.
Meanwhile, a juvenile court in the capital has sent the 16-year-old to the observation home for a day and the matter will be reviewed again on Monday. The six other occupants of the Scorpio are also being questioned.
