Tendulkar goes past 17000-run milestone

Hyderabad: Sachin Tendulkar reached 17,000 ODI runs in the fifth game against Australia at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium on Thursday.

The world's highest run-getter took 435 games to reach the 17,000-run milestone.

Tendulkar needed seven runs in the Hyderabad game to reach the 17,000 run mark.

Sachin has not been in the best of forms in this series and has scored just 90 runs in the first four matches so far.

The master batsman is followed by Sanath Jayasuriya with 13377 runs in 441 matches.

Australia captain Ricky Ponting is placed at third with 12241 runs in 328 matches at an average of 43.25.

Inzamam Ul Haq and Sourav Ganguly on the fourth and the fifth spot in the list of leading run scorers in One-dayers.
