Srinagar: It was a terror Tuesday that the country saw on July 7.

The morning began with it five back-to-back grenade attacks that rocked Srinagar and later in the evening, it was Mumbai that was shaken by a series of blasts.

The recent attack shows that that terror outfits have changed their tactics in the attacks in the valley.

The incident claimed eight lives and has left more than 30 injured. The dead includes three women who were from Kolkata.

"I had come with my daughter and son they've died everything has finished with them," 55-year-old Kamla Bhattacharya, who lost her family in the attacks, said.

The five attacks took place within a span of four hours. The first blast took place at Dal Gate at 11:40 am. The second took place on Residency Road at 12:10 pm. The third granade was lobbed at a sumo at Ghanta Ghar in the Lal Chowk area at 12:40 pm. Minutes later, a fourth blast rocked Ragal Chowk and the fifth near the tourist reception centre at 3:30 pm.

About 30 people were on board the fully packed Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transportation bus when the attack took place. The injured say it was a long wait before there was any kind of assistance.

"No one came for help," a victim, Shambhu Datta said.

No terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the blasts so far. But an alarming tactic, of using youngsters to carry out grenade attacks, has now emerged.

Union Home Secretary VK Duggal has confirmed that some terrorist groups are roping in locals to carry out attacks on their behalf.

"Information has come that they recruit some vagabonds, some kind of adventurous people attack the tourists," VK Duggal said.

The serial blasts are being looked upon as an act to cripple tourism in the state. But as always it's innocent people who prove soft targets for terror attacks.
