Mumbai: Dealing with terror attacks seems to have become a part of life. Indians are running for insurance cover in case of blasts in the future.
There was a sudden spate of customers for Optima Insurance brokers and New India Assurance.
Post the recent terror attacks, 3,000 people took the terrorism insurance cover in just two days. Even though the terror scheme has been launched before the bomb blasts, a sum of Rs 1 lakh will be given for a loss of life due to any kind of terrorist activities.
“Eight thousand people have taken this terrorism insurance policy and most insurance companies now include an optional terrorism cover along with a fire policy or personal accident policy. Insurance companies say that the number of people making enquires has seen an upsurge,” says Rahul Aggarwal CEO Optima Insurance brokers.
After the back-to-back blasts of Bangalore and Ahmedabad, Indians instead of speculating when terrorist activities will come under control are finding ways to be prepared for such eventuality through terrorism insurance.
