New Delhi: Chelsea mainstay John Terry is set to become the club's third one-club man after signing a new five-year contract with the side that have schooled him since he was 14.

Tommy Law and Ken Shellito are the only two other Blues to see out the entirety of their careers with the Stamford Bridge outfit, both full-backs, with the former featuring 319 times and the latter's career spanning a decade.

The club's official website released the following statement, "Chelsea is delighted to confirm that John Terry has signed a new five-year contract that keeps him at the club until the end of the 2013-14 season.

"This reaffirms both John's and Chelsea's long stated desire for John to be at Stamford Bridge for the rest of his playing career," the release concluded.

There had been much speculation over the summer regarding the future of the fearless defender, with Mark Hughes and Manchester City ready to offer the national captain mega-money to join their Eastlands revolution.

After conversation with the club higher-ups, and receiving assurances that the Stamford Bridge outfit's ambitions matched his own, he decided to remain committed to Chelsea.

Sky Sports speculate that Terry has become the country's highest earner, receiving a weekly wage of £160,000.
