Mumbai: Bollywood director Meghna Gulzar has cast popular actors Fardeen Khan and Esha Deol in her new film Honeymoon.
The film is about a couple who are married off after relatives and friends help set up the match.
"I can't claim to offer a different take on a honeymooning couple," she told the Mumbai-based newspaper. "I am going to present a slice of their life in a film - the issues that couples married through an arranged set-up go through."
Gulzar, an up-and-coming filmmaker, said she chose romantic hero Fardeen Khan because he came across as a regular, everyday guy, and Esha Deol because she could convey the awkwardness of a newlywed bride.
Meghna Gulzar is the daughter of Bollywood's famous lyricist and scriptwriter, Gulzar.
She made her directing debut four years ago with Filhaal, about complications that crop up between two friends when one agrees to be a surrogate mother.
