Mumbai: After actor Shahrukh Khan's biography, it’s now turn of lyricist Sameer to have his life and work written about.
And at the occasion of the release of his biography, it was double celebration for Sameer.
Firstly, it was his father, late lyricist Anjaan's 75th birthday and also his silver jubilee as a songwriter for Bollywood.
The biography, titled Sameer - A way with words, was released by Amitabh Bachchan, who got a little nostalgic at event.
"I remember we used to meet Anjaanji at Kalyanji Anandji's music room, where we would discuss and listen to musical compositions and different songs and it is because of those songs that I'm here," said Bachchan.
The biography, written by Derek Bose, chronicles Sameer's initial struggles and his rise in the industry up until now.
From the days when Anjaan used to write songs for Bachchan, to Sameer's compositions for son Abhishek, the book traces it all and Bachchan hopes that this legacy passes on to the next generation as well.
"I want to go immediately and tell my son Abhishek to make me a grandfather so that we can carry the legacy forward," said Bachchan.
"All the chapters in the book are emotional and will touch the reader's heart. The book goes into all aspects of my life, both the good and bad days I've faced. It will open all facets of my life," said Sameer.
Priced at Rs 1500, Sameer’s biography will also be available as Safarnama in the Hindi version.
