The President Is Coming to release on Jan 9

Mumbai: After a couple of false starts The President Is Coming is finally releasing this weekend. A satire - the film bids farewell to US President George W Bush, who is serving his last few weeks in the White House.

With George bush's reign of error all set to come to an end, the cast and crew of The President Is Coming got together on Tuesday night to celebrate the film's release which had been postponed due to the terror attacks in Mumbai.

"None of us expected something like that or experienced something like that. So at that point I said stop, we'll figure out what to do," said the film's producer, Rohan Sippy.

"We were fortunate in the sense that it was limited release so we were able to control it. And at that time we were stunned by what has happened. So after it cooled down we figured out an alternative date. But it seemed like the only thing to do," he added.

Laden with satire, The President Is Coming is about a unique contest.

"The film is about six young Indians who are enrolled in a contest to shake George Bush's hand. So through the film we get to know about their personal lives, their secrets and finally who gets to shake the president's hand," explained director Kunal Roy Kapoor.

Firstly, this film is a mockumentary. I've never seen any other mockumentaries and its about Bush - it makes a strong political statement," said actress Konkona Sen Sharma.

Well, curiosity about the film is certainly high even in tinsel town as actor Imran Khan said, "The film is hilarious. I saw 15 minutes of it and I loved it. And I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it."

Also, starring in the film is Shernaz Patel along with a cast of youngsters. The film will be competing with Horn Ok Pleassss, Kaash Mere Hote and Bad Luck Govind - all of which release on the January 9.
