Mumbai: Tariq Hussain may not be a name that many may know of today. But the nephew of filmmakers Nasir and Tahir Hussain was once considered as a strong competitor to superstar Rishi Kapoor.
Years have passed since he crooned Kya hua tera wada on the big screen and made women swoon over him. Today, he is hardly a patch on his younger self.
In fact when we met him at a party, he was surprised that we recognised him.
"I work for a courier company and don't intend to do any more films. I am happy with my current job and my house in Four Bungalows (Mumbai suburbs)," he told us turning down our request for a longer interview.
Tariq had acted in eight films before he disappeared from the limelight.
The sudden disappearance had something to do with a three-film contract he had signed with Nasir Hussain. The films took forever to make and Tariq grew too old to play the hero.
