New Delhi: The thick blanket of fog have once again thrown flight schedules out of gear on Sunday morning in the Capital.
Most early morning domestic flights have been cancelled or diverted.
Nine flights out of Delhi as well as the arrival of 24 flights have been cancelled.
The runway visibility at the Indira Gandhi International airports is down to 500m.
Of the 9 domestic flights, 5 flights are to Mumbai. This include Jet airways 9W709, and Go Air flight G8451.
The arrival of 10 international flights have been delayed and 9 could not fly out of Delhi.
The heavy fog has even put train services off track in Delhi.
The Puri-New Delhi Puroshottam Express is late by 4 hours. The Allahabad-New Delhi Prayag Raj Express is three hours late. The Northern Railways has cancelled 13 trains and partial cancellation of six trains until the end of this month.
These include the Rewa Express, Farrakka Express, Katihar-Amritsar Express, Bareilly-Allahabad Express, Jhansi Lucknow Express and Mughalsarai-Faizabad Passenger train.
On Saturday alone, six trains were cancelled for the the first time in the season.
A hundred long distance trains, coming mostly from the Northeast, arrived late.
Delays ranged between six and fourteen hours. Even Rajdhanis coming from the east were eight hours behind schedule.
Short distance trains too were delayed. The Lucknow Shatabdi arrived 12 hours behind schedule and the Mahabodhi express from Gaya was a day late.
