BANGALORE: Jeevanbimanagar police have arrested G Shridar alias Anil Kumar alias Sreekanth, who was allegedly involved in various criminal cases and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2.5 crore and electronic appliances from him.
The accused, Shridhar, 28, is a native of Bidalapur village in Devanahalli Taluk.
“Shridar is involved in 14 different cases. He is an ITI graduate and was breaking open the locks of houses for theft. He used to choose a locality and go around the area observing houses which were locked. Later, he would select a house and break open the lock of the house at night and make away with the valuables,” the police said. Shridar was convicted of various theft for six years in Ramamurthynagar, Jayram Nagar, Hoskote, Devanahalli and Vidyanagar.
However, he continued his illegal activities even after coming out of the jail and is involved in 14 theft cases.
The accused has been booked in eight cases in Jeevanbimanagar police station, three in Indiranagar, two in HAL and one in Ulsoor police stations.
“He also succeeded in looting eight kg of gold and three kg of silver from Varun Jewellers in Ulsoor,” the police explained.
The police said, Shridhar used to travel in BMTC buses to observe the ‘target houses’. When he was in jail, he had fallen in love with an accused called Archana and he was visiting her in jail even after his release.
