New Delhi: It's festival time and candles are back in demand. Candle lovers have a range of options: from designer candles, glittering golden candles, the shimmering silver variety to aromatic candles.

“We make candles according to the festive season. For Diwali, we have ethnic candles with stones on them,” says the owner of the shop Muslin, D P Singh.

But does that mean the traditional earthern diyas have no takers? Not really. Even the diyas now come in different shapes and sizes. If you want to be a bit more innovative and wrap chocolates and other gifts in diyas, there are bigger diyas that you can buy.

And how can you think of Diwali without thinking ‘lights’? You can easily choose from a wide variety of Chinese lights that look Indian and are perfect for the festival of lights.

"Rope lights are the most popular since they last longer and look better as well,” says a shop owner, Vishal Kumar.

So this Diwali take your pick from candles, diyas or lights, or perhaps all of them?
