Patna: Goddess Durga has found a new home in a moving train. A statue of the Goddess in placed inside the pantry of the Patna-Delhi Sampoorna Kranti Express.z

Call it the puja fever, but this has become a common sight on trains running on the Patna-Delhi route. Most of them begin their journey with a prayer to Maa Durga.

“Passengers are happy and very happy and no one has complained so far,” says Manager, Pantry Car, Sanjiv Kumar.

For the railway staff, this compartment is no less than a temple. Nobody is allowed inside with their footwear on, and no non-vegetarian dishes are served. Devotees believe the puja ensures Maa Durga's blessings are with them through the journey.

“We pray for the safety of trains and hope nothing bad happens,” says a priest onboard Ramashrya Singh.
