Former chief editor of Kerala Shabdam and Malayalanaadu weekly Thoppil Ramachandran Pillai, 76, passed away at 8.30pm on Tuesday. He died at his residence near Kattunkal Temple in Pachalam.
He had been undergoing treatment for diabetes for a long time.
Pillai has written many books and scripted a movie, ‘Aniyatha Valakal’.
He was also the lead actor in the film ‘Radha Enna Penkutti’. He is well known for his political articles during the emergency period.
Pillai was a post-graduate in chemistry from the University College, Thiruvananthapuram. He is survived by wife Anandavalli, children Jayaram Thoppil, Preetha and Priya. The cremation will be held in Pachalam at 11am on Wednesday.
